The country I think makes the best cars

Each country around the world has their own specialties when it comes to making cars and I want to find which is best.

Before we start, we first have to go over what actually makes a car good. First is reliability. A good car should run for a long time without breaking down. Next is coolness. Everyone wants a cool car because it can be a symbol of wealth and power in society. After that is practicality. Usually when buying a car, you want it to be good for everyday use meaning that it has enough space to store your stuff and has enough space to fit a decent sized family. Speed is also key in a good car as well as fuel mileage and a luxurious interior. Sometimes, you might want or have to take a long drive and in this case, you would definitely want a luxurious interior where you can relax throughout your drive instead of being uncomfortable for hours.

Ok, now that we have clarified that, we should say what countries are in this and their specialties. First of all is America. Now although companies like Ford and GM make all sorts of cars, they are best known for their muscle cars and their pickup trucks (mostly because no other country makes them).

Then there is England. English cars are very diverse. You have practical companies like Mini, luxurious ones like Rolls Royce and Bentley, and sporty companies like Aston Martin. Another interesting thing about England is how many small automotive companies there are from there.

Next is Germany. The Germans are known for companies like BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen (I wrote a post on the beetle so go check it out). They are known for practical, luxurious and reliable cars. A lot have people have said that the Germans are the only ones that know how to build a car.

After that is Italy, mostly known for companies such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Fiat. It’s mostly known for for making extremely fast and cool cars though they are also sadly known for breaking down a lot more than other cars.

The last European country is France, famous for companies such as Citroën, Renault and Bugatti (which I also wrote a post on so go check that out too). Honestly, I really don’t think that the French have any specialties when it comes to making cars other than Bugatti making some of the fastest cars in the world.

Now we move to Asia, more specifically Japan. Known for companies such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan, they make some of the most reliable cars in the world. If you watched the show Top Gear a few years ago, you might remember the episode ‘Can you kill a Toyota?’ where they constantly try to kill the Toyota pickup. After drowning in the sea and being dropped off a building, it still ran proving the reliability of a Toyota.

After looking through all of these, I have narrowed it down to my top two. Germany and Japan. Let me explain why some of the other countries didn’t make it.

First of all is America. Though their cars are sometimes cool, they have never been known for reliability and luxury so much as compared to other cars. In almost all categories, they are bested by Germany and Japan. England was very close to making it to the top two. It is great in most categories however a lot of the time there is another country that is better at a certain thing than them. For example, though Aston Martin is great, most Italian cars always seem to beat it. High end brands such as Bentley, Rolls Royce and more are great however they come at a price, and it is usually a big one. Another thing is that English cars arent typically reliable.

Italy is really only good at speed and looks. Italian supercars are the most desired cars because of how cool they look. So many kids have posters with them on their bedroom walls. There is another reason why people want them so much but cant have them. They are really expensive. Also, these things break down all the time.

Ok, now I will talk about why I said Germany and Japan were in my top two. Germany pulls out at the top of almost all of the categories. They are extremely reliable and also very luxurious. Cars like the BMW M5 beat almost any supercar even though it is a luxurious, five seater sedan. They are definitely practical and mostly look cool. I say mostly because of BMW’s new grill design. It made me barf in my mouth (though there are some pretty funny memes about it).

I also said Japan for many reasons. They are insanely reliable and definitely practical. There is a reason why they are so popular. Some of them are pretty cool and cars such as the Toyota Supra can be tuned to make insane power.

Overall though, I would have to say that Germany is the winner. It is only really beat by Japan by reliability but its not really that common for your car to be dropped of a building.
